Peter Jacob (Executive Director) is a human rights professional, researcher, freelances journalist and trainer. He has been contributing articles for The News International, Dailytimes, and The Friday Times. He has been associated with several national and international human rights organizations since 1988 in different capacities including Amnesty International Pakistan, Hotline Asia, Forum Asia and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He worked for Justice and Peace Commission, assistant and acting Executive Secretary (1988-1990), The Pastoral Institute, Multan as lecturer and executive staff (1990-1995) and National Commission for Justice and Peace as its Executive Director (1995-2013).
He researched and coauthored “Working Conditions of Agricultural Labour in Punjab” (2001) and “Life On the Margins” (2012), a study on situation of minority women in Punjab and Sindh Provinces. He published several fact-finding reports and books in Urdu including, Insani Haqooq Ke Irteqa and Insani Haqooq Ka Bainulaqwami Nizam (Sanjh Publications).
He studied Political Science, Law and Rural Development in Pakistan and earned an LLM degree from University of Notre Dame (US) in International Human Rights Law (2014).

Researcher and Trainer
Naumana Suleman is a human rights activist, researcher, and trainer with 17 years of professional experience. She has been engaged in developing and implementing projects and training programs related to Human Rights, including minorities’ and women’s rights using national, regional and international human rights/ UN mechanisms. She has also served as a member of the civil society advisory group for UN Women Pakistan.
Ms. Suleman has compiled and translated six publications on human rights in Urdu and English. She has carried out and contributed in researches and reports on Pakistan, focusing, human rights, peacebuilding, minorities’ rights, situation of minority women and education reforms. She also contributes articles for the Daily Times.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, and a master’s degree in political science from University of the Punjab, Lahore. She is a graduate in Peace and Justice Studies, from the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, University of San Diego, California, with an emphasis on human rights, peacebuilding, conflict resolution and research methodology.
Naumana served as a high school teacher (2000 – 2005) under a project of the Rotary International, and worked with the National Commission for Justice and Peace, of the Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (2006 – 2014).

Suneel Malik (Manager Programs) is human rights professional, with 14 years of experience in developing and implementing human rights advocacy programs with particular interest in international human rights protection mechanism.
He worked with National Commission for Justice and Peace as diocesan secretary and coordinator (2003-2010), and with the Peace and Human Development (PHD Foundation) as its Director (2010-2016). He also provided consultancies to several organizations including Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), GLIM, NLGF, AMCC, AWAM and Farrukh Foundation,.
Malik specializes in conducting capacity building trainings, advocacy and peacebuilding project management, particularly with grassroots organizations in improving organizational system & capacity, developing proposals, designing, monitoring & evaluation of the projects.
In his current role at CSJ, Malik is assisting in developing research & advocacy projects proposals, managing projects, assessing progress, and monitoring.
Appreciation: He has been awarded with a Certificate and Human Rights Defenders Award from The Asia Foundation (TAF) and Rights of Expression, Assembly, Association and Thought (REAT Network) in August 2015 for outstanding performance in defending rights of the minorities. Besides, he has been awarded with a shield from Association for Women’s Awareness and Rural Development (AWARD) in May 2013 for being part of lobbying delegation on minority rights.
Education: Malik earned a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Punjab-Lahore, and a master’s of science degree in Mathematics from the Government College University-Faisalabad. Malik also holds certificate in Gender & Women’s Studies from Allama Iqbal Open University-Islamabad.
Kulsoom Monica is a development professional and social activist having over 15 years’ experience in the development sector. Kulsoom worked in different capacities with National and International organizations including Shirkat Gah as a Research Associate, AMAL as a Facilitator & trainer (2000-2001) in rural Sindh and Baluchistan, Plan Pakistan as a Health Educator (2004-2006), Program Manager at RASTI (2006-2008), Heinrich Boll Stiftung-Pakistan/Afghanistan (2008-2015) as a program officer. Her recent engagement was as a Grant Holder and capacity building officer at Aurat Foundation Gender Equity Program, funded by USAID (2015-2016).
Her skills include community mobilization, organizational management, managing grants and projects, supervising project partner’s work, report writing, networking and advocacy. She also conducted seminars, conferences and delivered trainings on children’s health, HIV/AIDs, , Gender and Human Rights trainings.
She holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Punjab University, Lahore and a graduate of South Asian Woman Training on Gender Issues from SANGAT, Nepal.
She is working at Center for Social Justice as a project coordinator for project on ‘Strengthening Peacebuilding Infrastructure in Punjab and Sindh’.
In-charge Finance and Administration
Emmanuel Shafquat handles Finance and Administration at CSJ. He has worked as a finance professional and teacher for 4 years. He worked as Manager Finance in PMS and as Asst Manager Accounts in Master Motorcycles Pvt. Ltd. He also has experience of FOREX markets, worked for FBM as financial analyst. He has developed courses for different business schools for undergraduate programs and conducted crash courses batches for different subjects for ACCA students.
Emmanuel holds a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and he also holds an ACCA from Glasgow UK. Emmanuel is currently a student of CFA.
